Nick- General Manager (multi-sited)
Nick, also known as 'the guy with the hair' has been with the union since 1996! He's seen all the comings and goings of staff and students, and lucky for us has a wealth of knowledge of just about everything that goes on in the SU.
Nick's responsibilities include the overall management of the union, staffing, and finance. Developing commercial services, the SU magazine, co-ordinating volunteer services and the general marketing of SU all fall on Nick overall role.
Normal days & contactable core hours: Monday to Friday - 10am to 3pm
Mark – Deputy Manager (multi-sited)
Mark, weirdly also a guy recognisable for his weird and wonderful hair colours.. Blue, yellow, purple, what will he treat us to next? With the valuable experience of actually being a student union president years, and years, and years ago.. Mark is always on hand with his experience.
As deputy Mark is responsible for the management of non commercial services, including enrichment and the welfare department. Running the elections, the student rep system and website/magazine development are also part of Mark’s role.

James – Students' Union Buiding & Shop (SUBS) Supervisor (Broomfield Hall)
James ‘the guy from the shop’, is always on hand to take the Mick, have a laugh, and have a game with you on the Xbox, failing that he has a wealth of items to sell you from thee SU shop at Broomfield, should you succumb to the temptation!
James is responsible for the running of the SU shop, and all the long winded ordering that is needed! Any commercial projects run Inc function bars. Making sure the BH common room is kept a nice space and activities are undertaken is also part of James’s role.

Lauren – Student Advisor (RH & BH)
As Lauren is a trained counsellor, working within the Student Advice Centre seems to be a perfect fit. Having worked with the union for a number of years, Lauren has a good insight into offering the best help and advice when needed.
Lauren’s work includes the running of the SAC, signposting students, welfare campaigns, and offering representation and advocacy.
Normal days & contactable core hours: Monday & Tuesday - 10am to 3pm
Hannah – Support Worker (RH & FR)
Hannah is the newest member of staff on board at the SU. With the additional ability as a face painter Fun Days at the SU have never been the same since! Hannah’s work includes signposting students, maintaining social spaces, and working closely with Lauren and Kate as part of the welfare department. Offering disciplinary support and advocacy are also part her role.
Normal days & contactable core hours: Friday - 10am to 3pm & either Monday or Wednesday - 10am to 3pm
Kate - Support Worker (JWC & RH)
You can always rely on Kate for an honest and objective approach to whatever situation you have – whether you like it or not! If your up for a laugh and happen to be knocking about in Joseph Wright common room look for Kate, she’s the little one in the corner.
Kate’s work includes maintaining the social spaces at JWC, signposting student’s, administrating NUS cards, organising welfare information and campaigns.
