To give student’s a helping hand in getting some exposure for their music; we are running a get to know you and your musical talents feature.

For our Fresher’s Magazine edition, meet the band,

Beg to Differ

Can you tell us a little about the band? 

We're a 6 piece band from derby, started about a year ago. We’re just having a lot of fun really and enjoying the music we play.

How would you describe your genre of music, and what inspires you?

We're really a clash of a lot of styles; we have some Easycore parts, some parts inspired by pop punk and some inspired by heavy styles. I know a fair few of the band are influenced by would be four years strong but some of us our inspired by bands like Korn and Blink 182.

Is there anywhere in particular we can find you/do you gig at?

We've gigged in a fair few places, all good venues. Around derby is generally the old bell, Georges pub etc.

Did the band seek music lessons to get to where you are today?

Not that I know off, Lewis studied music at college but I was self taught, as were Craig and Lucas. I’m not too sure about Dan, Joe and Jake on the other hand.

Where would you the band like to be in 5 Years time?

We'd like to be a bigger band to be honest; we understand it'll take work though. Playing around the UK in better venues doing what we all enjoy, pretty sure sums up our goal.

What music/singer/groups inspire you?

Bands like; Four years strong, Escape the fate, Bring me the horizon, Asking Alexandria , Blink 182 , Bullet for my valentine, although we do have a range of bands that inspire us.
