Voting came to an end at 2pm on Friday 23rd May, and after hours counting, the DCSU can now announce the winners of the 2008/09 Students' Union Elections. Well done to all candidates who took part and thank you to everyone who voted. Here are the results...
Clive Reid is elected the NEW President
Responsible for representing all Derby College Students in every capacity, from College committees to other student organisations, the general public, trade unions and NUS both regionally and nationally. The President's job is to make sure your views are heard and acted upon, and will also oversee the day to day running of Union activities and manages external relations.
Josh Cunningham is elected NEW Vice President
(Representation & Democracy)
Responsible for leading the Course Representatives System and shall co-ordinate the Elections.
Will Smith is elected NEW Marketing and Media Officer
Responsible for taking the leading role in the Freshers' Fair and being the Editor of the DCSU website and student magazine; Stuffed.
Conor Lynam is elected the NEW Clubs and Societies Officer
Responsible for looking after and supporting all clubs and societies across the Union, developing student activities and ensuring the Union provides opportunties for students to develop their skills and experience at Derby College.
Martha Longdon is elected the NEW Activities Officer
Responsible for leading the Enrichment programme throughout the year and shall run all national and foreign visits.
The New Executive Committee will be attending a training and team building weekend away during the Bank Holiday half term in preparation for beginning their posts on July 1st, 2008.
