We have a lot of different charity events going on throughout the year. We raise money for lots of different chairties such as cancer research and The Hope Centre in Derby. Below are some of the events that are on this year.
Hope Centre Collection: DCSU are working hard in 2017 to try and get as many donations for the Hope Centre. These include food bank, clothing and also hygiene items collections! If you have any unwanted items or food items going spare then drop them in at one of the DCSU offices.
Christmas Jumper Day: We are doing Christmas Jumper day every year from now on at the end of the year. This is to raise money for Save the Children and all you need to do is bring in £1 and wear a festive knit!
Operation Christmas Child: We are going to begin running Operation Christmas Child at the beginning of October. This is an organisation run through Samaritans to collect toys for children in poor countries. You just have to fill up a shoe box with toys and come and deliver it to one of our offices! there is a small donation for each box of just £3 to contribute to the sending of the box but students can work togetehr as a pre Christmas project!
Red Nose Day: DCSU are running an event this year called 'Wear Red Day' for Red Nose Day! Just have a rummage at home, pick up something red, wear it to college and donate 50p! Staff and students will be on hand to collect donations on the day!
